Developmental Satellite Navigation Engineer, NSIC/DEL18

The United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Talent Management Office is searching for a Developmental Engineer, GG-0801-07 target GG-12.


Description:
As a SATNAV Engineer you will work with one of the USSF’s newest and fastest-growing Deltas to investigate and illuminate key adversary space platforms. Leveraging your technical expertise--and with access to the planet’s finest intelligence network--you will be poised to make predictions and discoveries that will shape the battlespace in all domains, fuel present and future defense acquisitions, and inform policymakers. It is not uncommon for the work done here to end up on the desk of the SecDef, VPOTUS, or even POTUS! You will work with likeminded individuals who form the backbone of our nation’s defense on the final frontier, and who dedicate themselves to the ideal of civil service.

Notional day: Your morning might consist of a few hours of research into an adversary employment method as you start a new chapter in your intelligence product, followed by lunch with your teammates. In the afternoon you might meet with contractors to discuss the progress of a new technology you inspired, ending your day a bit early to catch a plane to DC and brief your findings to a congressional committee.
Key Skills:
REQUIRED: At least a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science field, competence with MS Office suite, ability to acquire and hold a security clearance, and desire to seek new scientific knowledge for the sake of the nation’s defense.
PREFERRED: Experience with space systems and/or Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), preexisting security clearance/read-ins, knowledge of one or more programming languages, excellent public speaking skills, superior critical thinking & investigative skills.

Requirements:
1. Must be a U.S Citizen.
2. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
3. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
4. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
5. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
6. PCS/Incentive funding is not available.
