ADFORS GlasGrid and GlasPave product line offers several styles of pavement reinforcement The geogrids can be used as full lane pavement reinforcement or isolated crack repair reinforcement. As this product line (GlasGrid GG) prolongs the asphalt layers lifetime by up to 3 times, it reduces maintenance frequency and supports the reduction of CO2 emissions to rehabilitating roads. 

We estimate that it reduces total CO2 emissions by 19% for 1 km of EU motorway used over 30 years compared to a non-reinforced road (based on a 3rd-party verified study). 

On this assignment, the person will support some projects, considering new product developments and product performance. Within these projects, the main scope of the projects  will be:

1.  Prepare samples for mechanical and bonding testing 

2.  Support the development of new products, understanding the performance that need to be tested and the performance found during the development phase

3.  Join a global team to share and learn practices from the activity performed in our labs

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • The person for this role is desired to have knowledge of pavements  - fatigue and or thermo mechanical testing.
  • Have a creative problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach, considering thermo mechanical and fatigue testing, as shrinkage bend test, TMA, DSC, Adhesion
  • Ability to analyze data, perform DOEs and write reports in a clear way
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Work safely and effectively with a diverse R&D team actively supporting a culture of safety
  • Will work on sample preparation - Asphalt samples

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a MS or PhD program in Materials Science and Engineering - Civil Engineering, Asphalt Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of pavements - fatigue and or thermo mechanical testing desirable.
  • Ability to analyze data, perform DOEs and write reports in a clear way
  • Experience with formulation preparation and characterization is preferred
  • Experience with mechanical and or fatigue testing preferred
