Job Summary

 

This posting may be used to fill multiple vacancies. 

As a Withholding Outreach Coordinator in the Income Tax and Withholding Division, you will work in a collaborative environment with other outreach coordinators to help businesses meet their Withholding tax obligations. You will lead efforts to educate and engage with the business community in Minnesota. You will design, create, and deliver training and education at formal and informal settings to a wide range of audiences. You will work with other division employees to understand compliance issues and develop outreach and education goals to support these customers. 

This position will focus on building upon the small foundation we've created in the unit for this work and expanding into new areas and ideas for outreach and engagement.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) years* of professional level experience in accounting, auditing, teaching, or training environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and providing education and assistance to diverse communities.
  • Proficiency in office software, such as Microsoft Office Suites, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Applicants who meet the above requirements will be further evaluated based on the following during the interview process: 

  • Communication skills to prepare and present information. 
  • Decision-making, planning, and organization skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once. 

Must have reliable transportation or a valid class D driver's license. 

*An associate degree may substitute for six (6) months of experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute one (1) year of experience; master’s degree may substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Minnesota's Withholding tax laws, and policies and how we administer them.
  • Experience developing training for adult learners.
  • Experience in developing outreach and engagement programs.
  • Experience with leading projects or teams.
  • Experience proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements.

 

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, and laptop computer.

Additional Requirements

Prior to an offer of employment, a background check will be conducted.  This will include, but is not limited to checking degrees and licensures, criminal history, and tax filing and payment history.  All individual income tax filing and payment obligations must be current prior to interviewing for this position.
