IRS Hiring Event for Entry-Level Contact Representative Job Opportunities, June 27, 2024

If you have one year of customer service experience or a bachelor’s degree—or a combination of experience and education—our Contact Representative positions are the perfect opportunity to join the IRS as a customer support professional.

These entry-level positions do not require you to have prior tax experience. Our top-notch training programs will teach you everything you need to know to prepare you to be successful in these positions.

We will be offering full-time, seasonal positions on midday shifts (i.e., Mon-Fri, 12 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.). Full-time, seasonal positions are typically offered in a six-to-eight-month season and can be extended. If seasonal employees are released during the off-season, they will be called back at the start of each new season and do not need to reapply.

Join us in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 27 where we will be hosting an in-person hiring event for customer support positions in Jacksonville and surrounding areas. During this event, we will be conducting interviews, and making tentative on-the-spot job offers to those qualified attendees who previously applied to the Jacksonville-only Contact Representative event. If our offer is accepted, you will be able to complete several pre-employment steps during the event. The entire process can take about two to three hours to complete, so please plan accordingly.

How to Apply: Click on the Apply button on this site to register for the event. You’ll be taken to the official event registration page. Follow the instructions on that page, which will require you to (1) register to attend AND (2) apply to the exclusive Jacksonville-only announcement by 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday, June 23. Before the event, we will pre-qualify you and you'll be given expedited consideration at the hiring event. This is a required step. Don't delay, apply today!

Duties: As a Contact Representative, you will provide customer support—working directly with taxpayers to resolve a variety of issues on their tax returns and tax accounts.

Benefits: IRS employees receive the full package of federal employment benefits that include health and insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, federal retirement, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, which is a supplemental retirement plan similar to a traditional 401(k).

Note: Space is limited. You must register for an appointment and apply to the exclusive Jacksonville-only announcement BEFORE the event. Registrants who apply to this exclusive announcement will be given priority and expedited consideration over all others. Due to the high demand of these positions, those who do not apply may not receive consideration. IRS will not consider walk-ins (based on availability) before 12 p.m.

If you do not apply to the exclusive announcement before the event, remember to bring your resume and supporting education documents (if using to qualify instead of experience).

For IRS to consider you for employment, you must be a U.S. citizen (native-born or naturalized).
