Youth Sports Instructor

YOUTH SPORTS INSTRUCTOR - PROGRAM DIRECTOR & COACHING OPPORTUNITIES

Skyhawks is looking for parents, teachers, coaches, college students, and high school students who are interested in teaching young athletes (ages 3-14) the rules, techniques, and fundamentals of the following activities:

*Badminton *Baseball *Basketball *Flag Football *Golf *Multi-Sport *Soccer *Tennis *Track & Field *Volleyball (and more!)

We will be running year-round programs in the following areas at parks and local community centers in the South Bay: San Jose, Campbell, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Wastonville, and Santa Cruz.

  • COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Skyhawks partners with community-based organizations to provide youth the opportunity to enrich their sports skills by participating in safe, positive and non-competitive programs and camps. Over 40 years of experience have helped to build a menu of programs as varied as our young athletes. From traditional summer programs to year-round athletics and tournaments, Skyhawks offers it all.
  • JOB DESCRIPTION: Program Director and Coach positions are available. Skyhawk’s participants range from ages 3 to 14. Each programs’ director and coach will work together to prepare and execute a schedule full of fun, skill-based activities for our participants.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS: Skyhawks is looking for sports-oriented individuals who are highly-motivated, energetic people that enjoy working with children. Applicants must have varsity level experience playing and/or coaching, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the South Bay area. Skyhawks requires directors to be First Aid and CPR certified and coaches to be First Aid certified prior to their first program. All staff must complete a Live Scan fingerprinting process to meet our background check requirements. Staff must be at least 18 years old by September 1st or have a valid worker’s permit.

Program times are typically between 3pm-8pm Monday through Friday, Saturdays and Sundays 9am-4pm and meet on a weekly basis for 4 to 10 weeks per session. Staff will be expected to work a minimum of 3 days a week for the full 4 to 10 weeks of the class assignment and be able to meet at the shed monthly to exchange equipment between program sessions.
