The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is currently recruiting for a Student Nurse.
Position Highlights:
- FACILITY: Connecticut Valley Hospital (CVH)
- LOCATION: Middletown, CT
- SCHEDULE: Part-time, 1st shift, minimum 8 hours per week with flexible hours based on your schedule.

* Appointment to this class may not exceed six (6) months, the equivalent of 1040 hours, in a fiscal year and permanent status cannot be attained while working in this classification.

The Role:
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Receive training on implementing, evaluating and documenting care of patients adhering to hospital and care center policies and standards of professional nursing practice;
- Consistently demonstrates the mission, vision, values, and guiding principles of the state agency;
- Assists with making rounds and giving direct care;
- Confers with nurses and physicians on other shifts regarding condition of patients/clients;
- Assesses patients/clients medical psychosocial needs;
- Works collaboratively with members of an interdisciplinary team in planning direct care;
- Educates patients/clients and their families towards an awareness and understanding of health and illness.
