PAY AND BENEFITS

Hourly Pay Range: $46.540952 - $63.168870

Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

We are searching for an individual with law enforcement experience to join the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office Family Support Division as a Part Time (28 hours per week) District Attorney Investigator. If selected for this position, you will work primarily in the Family Support Division with supplemental duties in the Criminal Division. In this role, you will work mostly on locating, interviewing, and providing legal services to individuals with cases assigned to the division's Child Support Enforcement agents.

As time allows, you will also be assigned to follow up on cases that are assigned to the Criminal Division which include both property and person crimes cases. Criminal case assignment work involves locating and interviewing victims and witnesses in cases, re-interviewing suspects, collecting and submitting evidence, transporting evidence from storage to trial, preparing trial exhibits, monitoring inmate communications, and documenting your actions in reports. You will also be assigned as a member of the Clackamas Interagency Major Crimes team, a consortium of state, county and local investigators, who respond to major incidents in Clackamas County and sometimes the adjoining counties.

Required Minimum Qualifications/Transferrable Skills:*

• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a sworn police officer with at least two (2) years of criminal investigation experience at the Detective level or in a Prosecutor's Office

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• More than seven (7) years of experience as a sworn police officer with more than two (2) years of criminal investigation experience at the Detective level or in a Prosecutor's Office

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties outside the office setting require walking, standing, squatting, bending, balancing, fine motor control, and may involve exposure to slippery and/or uneven surfaces, adverse weather conditions, and unpleasant elements at crime/death scenes.

WORK SCHEDULE

This Part Time position works 28 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Incumbents must be available for call back or call out to respond to crime scenes that occur outside normal work hours/days. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
