2024 Summer Intern - Facilities Engineering

 

Department Summary:

As an intern working under the guidance of the Plant Engineer, you will be exposed to various aspects of facility management and engineering in a regulated cGxP environment.

 

This internship position is located in Pleasanton, California; fully on site.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying engineering needs for site facilities.
  • Contribute to defining projects and developing innovative solutions.
  • Participate in the development of project documentation.
  • Support the evaluation of competitive bids for projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of engineering changes/additions.
  • Learn to represent the site as a Facilities Subject Matter Expert (SME) on capital projects.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance strategies and programs.
  • Learn about preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
  • Assist in ensuring cost-effective and reliable operation of plant equipment and systems.
  • Contribute to the analysis of energy consumption.
  • Assist in identifying energy savings opportunities.
  • Support the development and implementation of projects to improve energy conservation.
  • Learn about cost and energy savings metrics and reporting.

 

This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in facilities engineering and management, providing opportunities for learning and professional development. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to enhance your overall internship experience.

 

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
  • Program start dates are in May/June
  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 
  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry. 

 

Who You Are

 

  • Required Education:
  • - Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)

 

  • Required Majors:
  • - Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred)

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $20.00 - $28.00 per hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
