Temporary Library Service Associate

Lincoln City Libraries currently has Professional/Technical Worker (Temporary Library Service Associate) positions available at:
 

  • The Gere Branch (2400 South 56th Street, 68506) and South Branch (2675 South Street, 68502) Libraries.
  • The Eiseley Branch (1530 Superior Street, 68521) and Williams Branch (4900 Mike Scholl Street, 68524) Libraries.
  • The Walt Branch Library (6701 South 14th Street, 68512).


These positions are Summer Seasonal positions and are not eligible for insurance benefits. The positions will be scheduled 10-29 hours/week starting no earlier than May 9, 2024, and ending no later than August 14, 2024, with the primary scheduling needs being June and July.

Library Service Associates are front-line staff, providing excellent direct customer service to the public. Tasks include assisting with the checkout of materials, issuing library cards, providing technology assistance, recommending materials to customers, promoting library programs and online resources, assisting with the access and use of library resources, and processing payments on customer accounts.

Scheduled work hours will be assigned and could be during any of the following times: 8:00am to 8:15pm Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:15pm Friday and Saturday, and 11:00am to 8:15pm Sunday. While schedules will vary, this position will be required to work evenings and weekends. Evenings and weekends are assigned quarterly, but it is not unusual to work two evenings a week and two weekends a month. While all positions are assigned to a primary branch or service unit, staff may be assigned to work at any branch location. Hours may be assigned at multiple branches in a single work day.
