Hourly Project Assistant II (Data Engineering) (JR-0000310)
Responsibilities:
The Hourly Project Assistant II will be part of a professional data team supporting efforts to transform COVID Data QA/QC programs/procedures developed rapidly during COVID that require significant manual updates and maintenance by DOH staff into a standard platform that is more efficient, secure and maintainable. The incumbent will be assist with designing, delivering and supporting data pipelines, APIs, and tools for COVID Data QA/QC; assist with the development of and maintain experimentation and modeling tools; assist with design, assist to develop, and maintain software capabilities that will provide or improve management, accessibility, security, or accuracy of COVID dataBuild, operate, and maintain aspects of our data platform built on top of cloud data infrastructure using agile delivery methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate or Graduate Student enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Public Health or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Coding skills in C/C++, Java, Python, R, SAS or JavaScript, database design and SQL. Demonstrated experience and/or coursework with computer science or data analytics with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Experience in Object Oriented programming. Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of cloud development principles and patterns such as loose coupling, clean separation of services and scaled out parallel processing. Experience collaborating with data scientists, software engineers and program managers in multiple organizations. Demonstrated familiarity with machine learning, deep learning, data mining, and/or data science.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 7/31/2024. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
