The Transducer Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will assist the Transducer Production Engineering department with design, testing, and documentation maintenance. The Intern will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, working on a variety of projects that will range from fixture modifications to testing to product redesign.

Job Duties:

As a Intern working with our Transducer PENG team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by working with the Production Engineering, Quality and Product Management teams.  A typical day for you will include:


* Analysis of manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI and other software tools.

* Creating and updating documentation for manufacturing standard of work.

* Conducting studies and proposing improvements to the overall process flow and spatial utilization based on Lean Manufacturing principles.

* Performing time studies and updating time standards.

* Evaluating ergonomics and safety within the Manufacturing operations.

* Reading and understanding basic engineering drawings, schematics, block diagrams, and electrical component specifications.

* Designing, modeling and purchasing basic fixturing using Solidworks. 

The Intern is a full-time positions, May – August.

 

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
(Only qualified candidates will be considered)
 
* Currently pursuing BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or other Engineering discipline.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.

* Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

* Ability to take the initiative and drive for results.

* Experience with 3D CAD programs is a plus.
