Part Time Music Therapist
The Nashua Community Music School is seeking a community-minded, versatile, reliable, and motivated person to join our team as a part time music therapist. This person will play a key role in the continued growth and development of the NCMS Music Therapy Program.
Job Responsibilities:
The Part Time Music Therapist will work primarily in direct service to a
diverse client base in and around the Greater Nashua area in Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts. Direct contact hours will include one-on-one clients on site at Nashua Community Music School, group sessions out in the community, and one-time or less frequent groups and workshops in the community and at partner organizations. They will be responsible for their own documentation and record-keeping with paid time for doing so. The Part Time Music Therapist must have a demonstrated devotion to unlearning biases and developing ongoing cultural humility. Monthly and weekly supervision, weekly team meetings, and continuing education opportunities are included.
Qualifications
The ideal applicant must..
- Be a Board Certified Music Therapist
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy (or equivalent or higher degree) from an accredited university
- Have a genuine passion for working with clients of all ages and abilities
- Believe that high quality music experiences should be accessible to all
- Have a demonstrated devotion to unlearning biases and developing ongoing cultural humility
- Feel at home delivering in person and occasional remote sessions for all ages
- Possess the vision and enthusiasm for fostering the growth of our new MT programs and community partnerships
- Comfortable completing standard documentation in a timely manner
- Have the capacity to work independently and as part of a team
- Have reliable transportation and be willing to travel in and around the Greater Nashua area
About NCMS: The mission of the nonprofit Nashua Community Music School is to create innovative music programs that are accessible to all. NCMS offers music education opportunities for all ages including: private music lessons, group classes, ensembles, Music Therapy, Music Outreach Programs, and summer camps. We appreciate teachers and Music Therapists who create meaningful connections with our students while supporting our efforts as a nonprofit community service-based organization.
