Electro-Mechanical Technician

As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, we will provide direct support of various equipment for restaurants, merchandise locations, arcades, and Attractions throughout Disneyland Resort® Parks and Hotels. Examples of equipment and systems supported include Point of Sale systems, Cast Member time clocks, arcade games, vending cart appliances, counting systems, embroidery units, show clocks, electric vehicle (EV) chargers, model trains, and show firearms. We also troubleshot systems/equipment and conduct quality check of completed work to ensure safe operation.
Responsibilities:
Operational & Functional Checks: Start and operate systems and equipment in a safe manner to check accurate operation. Must be able to apply operational and technical manuals / diagrams to safely operate equipment and know what actions to take in case of equipment failure.
Troubleshoot Various Systems/Equipment: Able to learn equipment operation in order to identify faults. Be able to use schematic diagrams, tech manuals, and manufacturer input, as well as a variety of tools and test equipment (i.e., multi-meters, measuring tools, 0-scopes, etc.) to accurately diagnose and repair equipment failures. May have to work in restaurants, retail stores, arcades, outdoors on mobile carts, as well as in a shop.
Overhaul, Maintenance, Repair, Alteration of Various Systems and Equipment: Accept technical direction from other teammates and manufacturer consultants in order to conduct and implement required actions. All tasks require lifting above and below the waist, bending, stooping, climbing (ladders), standing, and walking long distances throughout the shift. Technicians use hand tools, power tools, mild chemicals, and static discharge control to disassemble, test, clean, reassemble, and replace parts
Basic Qualifications:
- Schedule Availability - Must be open to any shift (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) including weekends, holidays, with any combination of days off. Available to work on weekends and holidays.
Technical Abilities
- Experience using Digital Multi-Meters (DMMs), O-scopes, and various specialty tools used in mechanical, electrical and electronic repairs.
- Basic digital literacy required to document work/job status.
- Strong mechanical ability to improvise and adapt parts for some of the older equipment and games for which parts are no longer available.
- Ability to apply HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines to work within restaurants and food-preparation environments.

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY
Shifts are typically at night, and individuals must have availability to work Sunday through Saturday, any shift (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) including holidays, and must be open to any days off.
Cast Members assigned to the Electro-Mechanical Technician role must attend yearly Hearing Conservation Training, Respiratory Protection Training, and Lead Awareness class. They must also undergo an annual medical examination, fit test, audiometric exam, semi-annual Lead/Zinc blood test, and random drug testing.

The pay rate for this role in California is $35.36 to $43.64 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
