Psychiatric Technician (Safety) Part Time

Psychiatric Technician (Safety) : 

Part Time:  28 Hours per week. 

 

Elevate Your Career with Us: We’re Looking for Experienced Psychiatric Technicians (Safety) at High Desert State Prison. This unique role offers the opportunity to provide essential care within a correctional healthcare environment. As a Psychiatric Technician (Safety), you will be critical in delivering comprehensive nursing and psychiatric care to our patients, contributing to their well-being and recovery.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Organize and deliver basic general, behavioral, and psychiatric nursing care to patients, following the Mental Health Program Guide, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Scope of Practice: Provide care according to the Psychiatric Technician's scope of practice, ensuring the delivery of appropriate and timely health care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provider Orders: Administer care based on valid provider orders and under the clinical direction and delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Health Care Operations: Support daily health care operations, including assisting with various tasks and contributing to the efficient functioning of the care team.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the health care team to address ongoing patient needs and foster a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Resource Management: Promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources in all aspects of patient care.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care within a correctional health care setting.
     

Minimum Qualifications:  

Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE. (Applicants within four months of completing the Psychiatric Technician curriculum accredited by the BVNPTE will be admitted to the examination, but they must secure this license before being eligible for appointment.)

This is a part-time position. It will be 28 working hours per week.
