Position Title: Grant Writing & Foundation Relations Intern
Important Detail: Please do not apply if you are currently pursuing a degree. This position is for individuals who have completed their degrees and are not currently enrolled in any programs.
Location: The Binaytara Foundation, Bellevue, WA
Duration: This is a 12-month (52-weeks) internship starting in January 2025. Candidates must be willing to commit for a full one year of the internship.
Stipend: $41,200 per year, paid monthly
Hours: 36-40 hours per week (may require longer hours during peak grant submission times)
Reports To: Director of Foundation Relations
Time Off: Three Weeks of Paid Time Off (this includes nine observed holidays).
Travel Requirement: This position may require travel to our conference/event sites in WA state or outside WA state which may include overnight stays.
Physical Ability: May be required to occasionally carry/lift/transport suitcases/bags/containers containing conference materials from/to the Binaytara Foundation office or another designated place to conferences sites. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required to load/off load those materials. Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Grant Writing & Foundation Relations Intern to join our team. This paid internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the global health sector. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a positive impact, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong interest in building relationships with pharmaceutical companies, public health focused foundations, and other local, national, and international institutional funders to support our mission of eliminating cancer care disparities.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Prospecting:
- Assist in identifying and researching potential foundations, corporations, and organizations for funding opportunities.
- Compile and analyze data on corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and foundation giving programs.
Grant Writing and Proposals:
- Provide support in the preparation of grant proposals
- Help ensure all applications meet deadlines and guidelines.
Reporting & Impact Measurement:
- Assist with reporting and tracking the outcomes of foundation and corporate funding, including preparation of impact reports.
Donor Stewardship & Communication:
- Help draft Letters of Interest (LOIs), proposals, reports, and emails.
- Support in maintaining the foundation and corporate partner database, ensuring it is updated with accurate information.
- Assist in preparing and tracking proposals, agreements, and reports to corporate and foundation partners.
General Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support for the Foundation and Corporate Relations team, including scheduling meetings and maintaining records.
Qualifications:
- Must have graduated from a undergraduate or masters program from a US University within the last two years. Please do not apply if you are currently pursuing an undergraduate or masters degree. This position is for individuals who have completed their education.
- Preference given to graduates of nonprofit management, public health, global health or other relevant field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Interest in philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and nonprofit development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
