Post-Doctoral Scholar
The California Center for Population Research at the University of California, Los Angeles, invites applications for two 2-year post-doctoral fellowships starting in February 2025, with the potential for renewal. The two postdoctoral scholars will collaborate with Professor Martha Bailey and project collaborators on one of two projects, depending on research interests and need: (1) the Longitudinal, Intergenerational Family Electronic Microdata (LIFE-M) project (www.life-m.org) or (2) the Michigan Contraceptive Access Research and Evaluation (M-CARES) project (www.m-carestudy.org). The post-doctoral scholars will collaborate with the project team to conduct data analyses and write manuscripts and research proposals. The positions also include working with staff programmers and research assistants supporting these activities.
Requirements for the position are a Ph.D. in Economics, Public Policy, or a closely-related field with related research interests and strong writing and econometric skills as well as excellent skills in team collaboration. For the LIFE-M postdoc, previous research or experience in data science and machine learning, historical demography, applied statistics or econometrics, and strong programming skills are strongly preferred.
