The company is developing a 210 MW solar energy project for Amazon as part of its first utility–scale renewable energy project in India. It has also signed an agreement with Microsoft India to produce 150 MW of clean energy.

GLOBAL GREEN SCHOLARS PROGRAM

 

The Global Green Scholars Program (GGSP) is a prestigious student program at ReNew that was launched in 2017. It is specifically designed to attract talented and passionate individuals from leading universities worldwide who have a strong interest in renewable energy and sustainability. The primary objective of the program is to foster diversity and facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas among the participating students. 

 

Details

The selection process for Global Green Scholars Program typically starts from the month of November-December where info session is being organized for each of regular campuses. Post this screening and interviews of interested applicants is done. The GGSP Internship starts from first week of June and goes till end of July (Two months program). 

 

The program offers selected students a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences, live industry projects in functions like Strategy, CEO Office, Storage, International Business, Bidding, Finance, Sustainability, CSR, etc. that are specifically tailored to their interests and career aspirations. There are several initiatives like leadership connect, sessions by leading experts, external seminars, site immersion, cultural immersion, to list a few that enable the participants to build a robust network, gain insights from industry leaders, gain valuable practical knowledge, enhance their understanding of renewable energy technologies, and develop skills necessary to address the challenges of sustainability and potentially explore future career opportunities in the renewable energy sector. 

 

GGSP seeks out students who possess exceptional academic and co-curricular achievements, ensuring that only the brightest and most dedicated individuals are selected for the program. These students are chosen based on their stellar records, which reflect their commitment to their studies and their active involvement in extracurricular activities related to renewable energy and sustainability. Historically, we have had 30 GGSP scholars from universities like Stanford University, Princeton University, University of Columbia, University of Wellesley, Harvard University, etc.

GGSP INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

 

A. Department Name: Corporate Communications

Project Overview:

Project Title: Comprehensive 360-degree Analysis of ReNew's Brand Positioning Aligned with Targeted Customer Segments

Deliverables

  1. Competition Mapping: Analyze ReNew's advocacy and industry positioning among key customer segments, specifically B2G and B2B stakeholders.
    1. Competitor information
    2. Secondary research

 

  1. Need-Gap Analysis: Identify current market trends and uncover key opportunities and positioning narratives within the global and Indian energy transition landscape.
    1. Qualitative Analysis – Assess brand awareness, equity, sentiment, engagement levels, and market share.
    2. Sentiment Analysis – Compare brand sentiment with top three global and Indian peers.

 

  1. Differentiation Strategy: Develop ReNew's positioning strategy across four main verticals: Media, Social Media, Public Relations, and Advocacy.
    1. Define specific "WHAT" actions to enhance ReNew’s unique brand presence.
  2. Roadmap Design: Outline 2-3 strategic differentiation initiatives for future implementation, focusing on the "HOW" of effective brand positioning.

 

B. Department Name: Energy Markets

Project Overview: 

Operations Research/Data Science/Economics (Power Sector) - Knowledge of large energy or optimization models, production cost models such as GAMS, PLEXOS, AURORA, BID3, SDDP good to have

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  1. Broad understanding of Power System, parameters impacting demand, commercial and operational understanding of the sector, supply side power-mix – techno-commercial understanding of at least one source (i.e., coal, hydro, gas, etc.) other than renewables (solar, wind, ESS)
  2. Knowledge of electricity/demand forecasting using econometric methods and historic trend analysis
  3. Understands ongoing energy transition, energy economics & sector dynamics
  4. Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in using structured methods and data analysis to derive market insights, data backed opinions
  5. MS Excel skills preferred and exposure to Power BI or Tableau good to have

 

C. Department Name: International Business Development (IB)

Project Overview: 

  1. Carbon Market Research: Conduct detailed research on international carbon markets, pricing trends, carbon credit standards, and regulations in APAC, Europe, and other key regions.
  2. Certification Processes: Track and understand the certification and verification processes required for carbon credit projects, ensuring compliance with global standards like CDM, VCS, and Gold Standard.
  3. Client Acquisition: Identify and engage potential buyers of carbon credits, such as corporations, governments, and NGOs.
  4. Sales and Marketing: Develop marketing materials and sales strategies to promote ReNew's carbon credit projects.
  5. Regulatory Analysis: Monitor and analyze carbon market policies, government regulations, and compliance mechanisms in key international markets.
  6. Carbon Offtake Strategy: Support the development of carbon offtake strategies for ReNew’s clients, contributing to achieving their decarbonization goals.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with international stakeholders, including certification bodies, regulatory authorities, and carbon offset buyers.
  8. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare reports on carbon credit opportunities, risks, and market forecasts to support decision-making for ReNew’s business expansion in the carbon market.

 

D. Department Name: International Business Development (IB)

Project Overview: 

  1. Market Research: Conduct comprehensive research on global green fuel trends, policies, and technologies, focusing on key regions like APAC, Europe, and the Middle East.
  2. Policy Analysis: Track and analyze regulatory frameworks, incentives, and compliance standards related to green fuels and hydrogen in targeted international markets.
  3. Proposal Development: Prepare comprehensive proposals and presentations for potential end customers and Assist in identifying potential partnerships, collaborations, and investment opportunities in the green fuels sector.
  4. Business Case Development: Support the development of business cases for green fuel investments, identifying growth opportunities for ReNew in international markets.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Assist with engagement efforts with key international stakeholders, including government agencies, industry bodies, and potential partners.
  6. Reporting: Prepare and present regular updates, reports, and insights on the green hydrogen sector, including trends, risks, and market opportunities.

 

E. Department Name: Program Management Office

Project Overview: 

Utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) for predictive analytics during the asset creation phase.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in developing AI and LLM models to analyze data and predict outcomes for asset creation projects.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data sources and integrate predictive analytics into workflows.
  3. Conduct data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering to enhance model performance.
  4. Support the deployment of AI solutions, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
  5. Analyze results and prepare reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  6. Stay updated on the latest AI and LLM technologies to recommend improvements to current practices.

 

Skills & Experience Required

  1. Proficiency in AI and LLM modeling techniques.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on predictive analytics.
  3. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Project Overview: 

  1. Assist in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and investment optimization within the Treasury team.
