Diesel Technician
Position overview: We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team, providing on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, professionalism, and independence, as you’ll be the face of our service in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mobile diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, air systems, brakes, electrical systems, and suspension components
- Conduct DOT inspections and preventive maintenance services (PMs)
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with sensors, wiring, and onboard electronics
- Accurately document all services performed using standardized templates or digital platforms
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding findings, repairs, and recommendations
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle stocked with essential tools and parts
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards
- Collaborate with dispatch or service coordinators to optimize route efficiency and job scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required)
-Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
-Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software (e.g., OEM scanners, multimeters)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions
