Activity/Sports Instructor I

Job Summary

Supervise, coach, and instruct fall little kicks and kicks league soccer programs at Paul Frank Field. 

This position will work on Sunday afternoons from September to Mid-October between the hours of 12:30-4pm as directed by the recreation supervisor.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Create a positive, educational, active and fun environment for participants.
  • Act as safety officer and implement any first aid needed.
  • Uphold the integrity of the recreational sport/activity and deal directly with any unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Required to help set-up and breakdown facility for specific activity/athletic instruction.
  • Work cooperatively with Park and Recreation Department, other facility users, team managers, and players implementing other recreational programs.
  • Act in a polite and courteous manner and represent the Recreation Department and the City of St. Louis Park in the most professional way.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Must be at least 16 years old.  
  • Must be very familiar with sport or activity and have knowledge of all official rules and skills.
  • Experience working with groups and teaching skills.

  • Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city’s strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
