Accounting Intern (PT)

JCSD is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Finance team!

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under immediate supervision, provides overall support to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other areas of the Finance Department as needed; performs related duties as assigned.

Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so qualified interns can perform the essential functions of the job.

Depending on assignment, an Intern is responsible for one or more of the following duties:

  • Provide support to accounts payable in the day-to-day tasks, including processing invoices and tracking expenses
  • Assist accounts receivable with preparing billings and updating our records
  • Provide assistance in the completion of the payroll process
  • Performs data entry and file management tasks.
  • Attends department meetings and events.
  • Performs general clerical duties.
  • Assists and participates in the daily work of employees.
  • Observes and complies with all District and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or recent graduate (within the last 18 months) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business, or a similar field.
  • No prior experience is required.

 

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Possession of a valid California Class “C” Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
