Speech Language Pathologist

Any speech language pathologists out there looking for a flexible schedule?

Location: Middle Tennessee

Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time Sub-Contractor

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide in-home therapy services to adults with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in communication disorders and a commitment to supporting clients in achieving greater independence and improved quality of life through individualized speech and language therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

● Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in adult clients with developmental disabilities.

● Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs, goals, and progress.

● Provide direct therapy services in the client’s home environment, promoting communication strategies that support daily living skills.

● Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavior specialists, and caregivers/family members.

● Educate families and direct support staff on strategies to facilitate communication and reduce barriers in the home and community.

● Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.

● Participate in periodic team meetings and contribute to person centers Individual support Plans (PCSPs) when appropriate.

Qualifications:

● Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

● Current certification from ASHA (CCC-SLP).

● Valid Tennessee state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

● Minimum of 1 year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities (preferred).

● Home care experience a plus.

● Experience with various AAC software and devices.

● Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

● Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes within assigned territory.
