Contract Position: Family Advocate / Community Support Contractor
Overview
United Against Poverty, through the 100 Families Initiative, is seeking an independent contractor to serve as a Family Advocate / Community Support Partner. This role focuses on helping families in crisis move toward stability by connecting them with resources, conducting needs assessments, and fostering community partnerships.
Contract Terms
- Status: Independent Contractor (not an employee)
- Compensation: $20/hour
- Hours: Up to 10 hours/week (flexible schedule)
- Supervisor: 100 Families Coordinator
- Duration: Renewable based on performance and funding availability
Responsibilities
- Conduct up to 2 new family assessments per week using the HopeHub platform
- Maintain a caseload of up to 10 families and provide follow-up support according to their crisis level:
- Weekly for acute crisis families
- Bi-weekly for moderate crisis families
- Monthly for stable families
- Input and update all family information into HopeHub in a timely manner
- Collaborate with partner agencies, churches, and organizations to connect families with needed resources
- Attend required training and monthly alliance meetings
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate and solution-oriented approach to working with families in need
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Experience in social services, community outreach, or related fields preferred
- Basic computer skills and comfort with online data entry
- Commitment to the mission and values of United Against Poverty
Accountability
The contractor will submit weekly invoices for hours worked and provide brief activity summaries. Work will be evaluated based on the number of families served, timeliness of follow-ups, quality of documentation, and participation in meetings.
