We are preparing to launch an innovative crowdfunding campaign and are seeking enthusiastic marketing students to join our team as part-time interns. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, campaign strategy, and brand development.
NOTE: This is NOT an immediate cash flow position. We are a pre-revenue and pre-funding startup. We offer our interns (and are on the same kind of agreement ourselves as cofounders) what we call a discounted deferred cash plus equity agreement. What that means in “English” is that we have no money now, are trying to get our product to market and to get our first funding, so we are all working on the hopes and expectations that we will (see my linkedin profile, www.linkedin.com/in/halchristophersalter for some context as to why we are confident we can get there).
What that means is that once we are funded, all of us, and our interns, will get 25% of their work hours paid in cash, and the rest in stock options (i.e., you do $10,000 worth of work with us, based on a base salary of “x”, you would get $2500 of that in cash, the other $7500 in equity in the form of stock options, but times 3, i.e., you would get $22,500 in stock options, to compensate for the high risk aspect of our startup.)
We understand that this may not work for you, we have tried to clarify this inside the Handshake app several times but their format does not lend to this kind of compensation offer easily, it's very checkbox structured.

Responsibilities:
- Market Research: Analyze target audiences and identify key market segments.
- Content Creation: Develop engaging content for social media, blogs, and newsletters to promote the campaign.
- Social Media Management: Assist in managing and growing our social media presence across various platforms.
- Email Marketing: Support the creation and distribution of email campaigns to potential backers.
- Campaign Strategy: Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective marketing strategies to maximize campaign reach and success.
- Analytics: Monitor and report on campaign performance metrics, providing insights for optimization.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience with crowdfunding campaigns is a plus but not required.
Benefits:
- Gain practical experience in marketing and crowdfunding.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate your academic schedule.
- Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project and see the direct results of your work.
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced marketing professionals.
Financial Parameters: This internship is currently unpaid, but depending on the qualifications and work produced we can also consider deferring to future discounted cash payment for hours worked and stock options if or when we achieve capital funding. Given this project is currently in a prototype stage, we would be doing a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to produce a fully viable commercial product on the mobile platforms.
Prospects for capital infusion are dramatically raised upon developing and proving a product/market fit, and initial revenue, even small beta programs. While this is a short term, part time position, we are also actively hoping to find candidates for future full time employment as funding permits.
What We’re Looking For
- A student or recent grad who’s curious about marketing, social media, and creative storytelling.
- Strong communicator with a knack for writing and/or design.
- Comfortable with Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
- Bonus points if you’ve played around with Canva, Mailchimp, or similar tools.
- Positive attitude, team player, and not afraid to share new ideas.
What’s In It For You
- Real, hands-on marketing experience (no coffee runs).
- Mentorship from a supportive team that wants you to succeed.
- A chance to build your resume and your portfolio.
- Flexible schedule to work around classes.
- A fun, collaborative environment where your voice matters.
- We can provide any documentation your school may require to show you have fulfilled an internship if that is necessary.
How to Apply: Please submit your resume, a brief cover letter answering the following questions:
A) Do you have any affinity or background in music, early education, special needs education, or game development?
B) Why us?
Outline your interest in the position, and any relevant work samples or portfolios. Submit these documents into the Handshake platform please.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
We look forward to hearing from passionate and driven individuals eager to make a difference.
