Structural Designer - New Graduate
Job Brief:
As a Structural Designer - Graduate for our firm, you will be responsible for the implementation of engineering department design standards. You will work closely with other team members in order to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects within the company. We know that most graduates have had limited exposure to structural engineering, so we will work with you to develop a solid understanding of structural engineering principles and drafting procedures.
Required Experience:
- College degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
- Introduction to AutoCAD, RISA and Revit
- Introduction to Drafting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage the workload of simultaneous projects tasks and meet the task deadlines
- Good communication and organizational skills
- E.I.T. certification must be obtained withing 6 months of employment
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Engineering Design Calculations
- Complete drafting tasks to support design
- Collaborate with the team to prepare construction drawings
- Develop practical solutions for construction and design related issues
- Review third party reports and drawings, including project shop drawings
- Aid in the development of value engineering strategies
- Attend project site visits/inspections with clients, contractors, PMs and others
- Progressing your technical knowledge in preparation for professional engineer licensure and position advancement
