Mechanical Engineer

- Candidate will be responding to issues on the shop floor. Most time is spent addressing AQE’s that are assigned to engineering and responding to any questions/issues directly from the shop (section managers, auditors, assemblers, and the manufacturing, quality, and supplier quality engineers). Will communicate and collaborate often with the design teams through email and Teams chat/calls/meetings to resolve design issues. Time spent on shop floor and desk varies depending on need. Will partake in weekly AQE, BIQ, and warranty review meetings. Core hours are 7:00-3:30 with some flexibility. Position will be ONSITE day 1.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelors in mech Eng with 0 - 2 years of experience, or associates with 3 - 5 years experience
Technical Skills
(Required)
- 0-2 years of overall experience (project and internships included). At least 0-2 years machine assembly/processing experience. Should have at least a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Good knowledge of basic software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Desired)
- Previous experience with machine design/process design, previous Engineering coordination activity experience, use of VisView, use of TeamCenter. Exp with: PRWB, Tableau (view AQE’s), Decatur Web Apps, Access to MES, Access to AQE, ETQ Reliance Portal (Deviation), CPI-BIQ, I-Cubed, CI processes, Parts Discovery Tool (replaced Design Reuse
- Differentiation Factor: Cat experience or experience with the assembly operation side.

- Excellent communication, both written and oral. Manage shifting priorities while maintaining good interpersonal skills in a team environment. Must possess ability to learn quickly and be willing to work with operations/shop floor daily.
