Job purpose As a Planning Intern at Lumitex, you will gain valuable experience in the planning and purchasing functions within a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates interested in numerical analysis, supply chain management, and the operational aspects of product life cycle management. Duties and responsibilities
•
Assist in building buy plans and forecasting inventory needs based on production schedules and customer demand.
•
Process purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
•
Maintain accurate data entry and utilize Excel and other MRP (Material Requirements Planning) reporting systems to manage inventory and procurement data.
•
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
•
Gain exposure to supplier relationship management
•
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and purchasing processes.
•
Support inventory audits and participate in cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
•
Support ad-hoc projects and assignments as directed by the Planning and Purchasing Manager.
Qualifications
•
Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program, such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, or a related field.
•
Strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with MRP or ERP systems preferred.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Prior experience in planning, purchasing, or inventory management is a plus.
Working conditions
This is a part-time, paid internship position with flexible hours (15-20 hours per week). The internship duration is for (3 months), with potential for extension or full-time opportunities.
