Lead Radar Sensing Engineer

Lead Radar Sensing & Fusion Engineer (mmWave, TI IWR6843)

Location: Chicago preferred (hybrid).
Type: Full time.

Mission
Own the sensing stack for Arqaios rooms that use IWR6843 triads. Deliver robust multi-person tracking, posture and fall detection, and clean, synchronized datasets for model training.

What you will do

Design multi-sensor layouts per room (switch, outlet, ceiling vent) and write fusion specs for triad and room-level track-to-track fusion.

Configure chirp profiles and interference avoidance for multiple IWR6843 nodes.

Implement clustering and association (dynamic DBSCAN, probability-matrix or Hungarian) and fall status logic at 15 to 20 FPS.

Define ground truth and test plans with the Field Test team (1 to 3 people, scripted activities, occlusions, near-wall cases).

Deliver versioned datasets and metadata to AI Engineering (schemas, calibration, alignment).

Build KPIs for precision, recall, ID persistence, fall detection accuracy, and latency.

Collaborate with Firmware on on-device preprocessing and with Data Ops on logging, storage, and labeling workflows.

What you bring

5+ years in radar perception or sensor fusion for people tracking.

Hands-on with TI IWR6843 or similar (TDM-MIMO, chirp design, CFAR, angle-Doppler).

Solid Python and C++ for real-time perception.

Familiar with ROS2 or equivalent pub-sub, and time synchronization.

Comfortable turning research ideas into production code.

Nice to have

Thermal and acoustic feature fusion experience.

Experience with embedded constraints (ESP32 class nodes).

Experience in eldercare, safety, or smart building products.
