
Youth Sport Coach

Our coaches have a strong understanding of child development. As a coach, you will lead lessons with children 2-12 years old. This role involves not only teaching the basics of sports, but also educating players on the importance of teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Our program is developmental- meaning we focus on the basics of sports. Coaches do not have to have prior experience with sports, but should be comfortable with instructing, walking, and running with youth.
Coaches will host lessons in multiple locations including, but not limited to, daycares, schools, parks, and community centers. Coaches need to foster a positive and motivating environment, while having a lot of fun!
This is a perfect opportunity for students, teachers, and daycare workers looking for part-time work!
Responsibilities
- Follow HuddleUP Football curriculum.
- Adhere to assigned schedule, each session is 4-5 weeks long. Coaches will instruct 1-4 lessons in a row (up to 2 hours total).
- Encourage and engage participants.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate with HuddleUP Football owners on a consistent basis.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure consistent messaging and training approaches.
- Manage behavior effectively during lessons.
- Travel to multiple locations to host lessons.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience with children 2-12 years old in a school, sports, or after school setting.
- Experience in behavior management techniques to effectively handle diverse player dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with players, parents, and other staff members.
- Ability to motivate athletes of varying skill levels while fostering a love for the sport.
- A commitment to promoting safety and well-being during all activities.
- A reliable vehicle for transportation. Coaches are responsible for driving to locations, bringing equipment, and arriving on time.
