Occupational Therapist
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in providing therapeutic care to individuals across various settings. This role involves working closely with patients to enhance their ability to perform daily activities and improve their overall quality of life. Experience with individuals on the autism spectrum and knowledge of geriatrics will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with medical standards.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment goals and strategies.
- Stay informed about advancements in occupational therapy practices, especially related to anatomy knowledge and case management.
Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and active OT license in South Dakota.
- Good clinical judgement, strong interpersonal skills, resourceful and compassionate.
- Familiarity with planning processes and case management practices.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
- Knowledge of sensory interventions.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to occupational therapy and patient care.
- Background in geriatrics is advantageous, as well as skills in assisting patients with diverse needs.
