Support Staff

This position is for Kiln, a restaurant in Shaker Hts (located in the Van Aken district). Kiln serves bistro-style shared plates in a classic, polished setting. Kiln is the latest restaurant from Edgewater Hospitality, which also operates Zhug and Amba. 

Kiln is currently hiring for support staff. Support staff responsibilities include running food items to table and bar top seats, clearing and resetting tables, and hosting. Other tasks include polishing glassware and silverware and generally supporting the operation of the restaurant.

Ideal candidates are well-spoken, personable, and eager to learn.  A friendly demeanor is an important part of the hospitable atmosphere we work to create for all the guests at Kiln. No prior restaurant experience is necessary.  

Kiln is open Monday through Thursday from 4pm until 10pm, and Friday and Saturday from 4pm until 11pm. Hours for support staff are approximately 3pm until business decline (usually about 8:30pm) or 5pm until close. There is some flexibility with scheduling start times to accommodate other commitments. Weekend availability is a must (Friday or Saturday evenings).

This is a tipped position. The base wage is $6/hour with a variable additional hourly tip wage dependent upon business levels. Generally the additional hourly tip wage is between $10 and $25 per hour.
