Supply Chain Operations - Logistics Customer Service Representative

Job description:

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our customer service department.  Although the desired candidate has prior experience in the Freight Forwarding industry, more specifically in import/export operations, however, prior experience is not required.

The position is in-office and office is located in Whitestone, NY.

Job Requirements

  • Provide courteous and professional customer service, maintaining appropriate boundaries in all communications
  • Provide sales support, pricing, rate quotations, and rate filing
  • Utilize our system to track, trace, follow up, release cargo, and deliver shipments
  • Review shipping documents, and client billing for consistency and accuracy
  • Ensure clients/customers receive documents promptly and on time
  • Follow up with clients/customers with updated shipment information and availability
  • Knowledge of FCL/LCL, import, export, ocean and air shipments helpful
  • Work with customs brokerage to ensure entry/clearance of shipments
  • Work well in team environment and within global offices network
  • The candidate demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude toward accepting the job assignment as defined by the company
  • Candidates must have continuous employment, with no gap exceeding six months since their most recent position
