Classification: Part-time or Full-time Position
Reports to: Camp Director
Compensation: Stipend and Housing
Position Purpose: To join the ministry team at LeTourneau Christian Center, partnering in the growth of the ministry for the glory of God and the joy of His people. The Director of Food Service will oversee the camp’s food service department, ministering to guests and staff through the development and implementation of professional menus, policies, food preparation, dining service, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate with staff to ensure thorough preparation for all functions
Plan menus that reflect guest preferences, nutrition, budget, and presentation
Oversee and participate in meal preparation, cooking, serving, and post-meal food storage for up to 300 guests
Train and manage kitchen and dining hall staff/volunteers in a professional, safe, and Christ-honoring manner
Maintain ordering, budgeting, and detailed inventory systems for the kitchen and dining hall
Ensure an orderly, clean, and safe kitchen; schedule deep cleaning and equipment maintenance
Assist with Dining Hall operations, including laundry systems
Other Ministry Commitments
- To be a spiritual mentor and example for kitchen staff and volunteers
- Be aware of all applicable New York State regulations; keep current with any required certification(s)
- Recruit and support volunteers, recognizing their contributions.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address guest needs.
- Complete CPR and First Aid training as required.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in camping or sports ministry.
- Flexible to work varying hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Committed follower of Jesus Christ, actively involved in a local church fellowship, using your spiritual gifts.
- Able to sign and uphold LeTourneau Christian Center’s Staff Policy Handbook and Statement of Faith.
