Schedule: Weekday afternoons and weekends
Students: High School (Grades 9–12)
Job Description
We are a New York–based academic enrichment organization seeking qualified High School Science Instructors to teach Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and/or Earth Science. The instructor will support students in mastering course content, strengthening scientific reasoning, and achieving strong academic performance in their school science courses and exams.
Responsibilities
Teach one or more high school science subjects:
Chemistry
Biology
Physics
Earth Science
Provide instruction through:
One-on-one tutoring
Small group classes (1–4 students)
Support students with:
Core concept understanding
Problem-solving and scientific reasoning
Homework, quizzes, tests, and Regents-style exams (if applicable)
Develop lesson plans tailored to students’ academic levels and goals
Review assignments and provide constructive feedback
Track student progress and communicate with academic coordinators as needed
Create a structured, supportive, and academically rigorous learning environment
Qualifications
Strong subject knowledge in at least one high school science discipline
Prior teaching or tutoring experience in high school science (required)
Ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in science, engineering, education, or a related field
Comfortable working with motivated, high-achieving students
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to teach multiple science subjects
Experience with:
Honors or advanced-level courses
Regents, AP, or equivalent curriculum
Familiarity with U.S. high school science standards
Teaching certification is a plus, but not required
