Physician Assistant Faculty

Miami Dade College (MDC) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Faculty member to join the Physician Assistant Program at our Medical Campus. This position plays a key role in preparing the next generation of compassionate, highly skilled healthcare professionals through classroom, lab, and clinical instruction at both the Associate and Bachelor degree levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Deliver high-quality instruction for Associate of Science and Bachelor of Applied Science PA courses
  • Contribute to curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous improvement
  • Participate in academic committees at the School, Campus, and College levels
  • Advise, mentor, and assess students throughout their academic journey
    Maintain accurate records and submit student data to the Department Chairperson
  • Support departmental goals and carry out other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Doctorate degree (e.g. Medicine, Nurse Practitioner, Osteopathy) or Master’s degree in a Health Science field (e.g. Health Science, Medicine, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Public Health, Pharmacology); or Doctorate or Master's degree in a Health Sciences field (e.g., Health Science, Medicine, Nurse Practitioner, *Physician Assistant, Public Health, Pharmacology); or Doctorate or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in one of the above-referenced Health Sciences fields; and Physician Assistants must possess valid national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) 
  • Non-PA applicants holding degrees from foreign institutions must submit an official translation to English, if necessary, and an official evaluation of their degree and coursework from a member agency of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) member agencies to ensure degree equivalency.
  • Valid national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Proficiency in using instructional technology and multimedia resources
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with diverse student populations
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students through active learning strategies and problem-solving approaches
  • Willingness to teach at multiple campus or outreach sites and adapt to evening/weekend scheduling
