Job Title: Software Development Engineer

 

Summary:
Salient Global Technologies CORP has multiple openings for the position of Software Development Engineer which requires at least a U.S. Masters in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field and two years of experience in software development life cycle, programming in C, Python, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms such as AWS. 

 

Duties: 
Analyze Call Flows between 5G Network Elements such as gNB, AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF to determine Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) API requirements.

Prepare software requirements, Level of Effort to define APIs based on the call flow analysis.

Design and Develop Packet Dissectors for 5G Protocol Analysis

Design, develop, modify, and document DPI APIs using, C, Python and LUA programming languages

Develop and direct testing software to validate APIs

Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new protocols and hardware, upgrade APIs to improve performance

Prepare reports concerning project specifications, activities and status.

Work with end users, other programmers, systems architects and project managers in solution delivery.

Work with various source and version control tools like Jira, Confluence and GIT

Configure and manage network elements such as Brocade TAP, Juniper and Cisco Routers

Install and manage 5G VNF and CNF elements in OpenStack and OpenShift

Configure 5G Radio Elements such as RRU, BBU, GNB, and UPF in preparation for Packet Capture

Configure and debug User Equipment (UEs) for packet capture using QxDM, XCAL

Create high level call flow diagrams and architecture diagrams by closely working with Systems Architects

Automate, capture of data, test cases and build deployments
