GBG US has two main consultancy streams being Forensic Engineering and Engineering Geophysics, and our work covers all disciplines investigating structures both modern and historical through to Geophysical investigations including Marine, Terrestrial and Airborne.
About the Role:
GBG has a new opportunity due to increased workload and growth, for a full time, Site Operative, with scope to progress to a Project Manager Role for the right candidate. This role would be suited well for a candidate based in or around NYC, as GBG’s New York office is located on Wall St.
Background and Duties:
The key responsibilities of this role include site investigations using methods such as: thermal imaging, ground penetrating radar, acoustics, and other non-destructive techniques. The role also provides the candidate with the ability to work in the geophysical sector using methods including seismic, electrical, and electro-magnetic methods. Previous experience in these methods is not necessary but applicants with experience are encouraged to apply.
In this role your key focus will be fieldwork, and travel can be a large part of this role. We have a strong focus on career growth at GBG and providing opportunities for on-the-job experience. You’ll have many opportunities for development in a supportive team environment.
The role has a good mix of site, home and office work. .
Requirements & Qualifications:
Willing to work in the field away from home for up to 2 weeks at a time.
Willing to work night shifts as required (night works are reimbursed with out-of-hour payments and/or vacation days in lieu of pay)
Zero to three years’ experience on construction sites beneficial. OSHA & MSHA certification is a bonus.
Experience in any type of data collection and processing beneficial.
English proficiency and communication skills required.
