Archive & Exhibit Design - AmeriCorps Member

Clinch-Powell's Appalachia CARES program is currently recruiting an AmeriCorps member to serve in Downtown Rutledge, TN. This position will be primarily involved in historic archival and exhibit design in the context of a historic property being developed into a community museum. A strong candidate will have experience and/or course work in the field of history, archives, historic venue/museum curation, and/or exhibit design (with reference photos). In addition to strong organizational skills, ideal candidates should have a working knowledge of research, cataloguing and archival techniques with access to research tools needed. This is a seasonal position, but length of contract and schedule can be discussed and adjusted to accommodate student schedules, etc. 

Position details - 

  • AmeriCorps national service position
  • 20-40 hours required per week depending on contract length
  • 4-8 month position options (commitment and contract required)
  • Service headquarters - Rutledge, TN

Basic Requirements - 

  • National service criminal history check, including FBI fingerprinting 
  • US citizen or permanent resident (AmeriCorps requirement)
  • Reliable transportation to and from the main office and various worksites
  • HS diploma or equivalent
