Welding & Repair Technology Center Student Employee (REQ-3880)

EPRI’s Welding & Repair Technology Center (WRTC) is seeking a motivated and technically minded Student Research Assistant to support development of next-generation adaptive welding technologies.

 

This part-time role will focus on improving the performance, reliability, and usability of our LabVIEW-based data acquisition and control system, which is central to ongoing EPRI R&D in automated and AI-enabled welding.

  • The ideal candidate will be experienced in LabVIEW programming and interested in applying these skills to real-world engineering systems.
  • Exposure to Python is a plus and will be beneficial for working with machine-learning workflows and data processing routines.
  • This position provides an opportunity to work directly with engineers advancing state-of-the-art welding automation for nuclear applications.
  • The selected student will be expected to work part-time year-round, with flexibility around academic schedules.
