TITLE: Product Coordinator Summer Intern
REPORTS TO: Product Manager
SUMMARY: This is a great fulltime summer opportunity which could transition to a fulltime role. Bring us your customer service, communications, and organizational skills and learn how L&M works across NC, FL, and GA. The Product Coordinator Intern ensures quality and production team goals which includes a range of oversight including planning, scheduling, directing, and executing production activities for maximum performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works closely with the product manager on order entries
- Oversees material and product inventories
- Directs truck drivers and the product loaded on trucks
- Assists growers with the Grower Portal and printing tags
- May assist the product manager with sales calls
- Travel required 35% of the time from May through July/August (expenses paid)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Builds and maintains effective working relationship with growers and customers, while giving top customer service
- Strives to meet customers’ needs in every feasible way
- Communicates effectively and manages information to the product manager.
- Supports L&M’s team members by communicating grower information
- Knowledge of USDA standards and regulations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
- Detail oriented.
- Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- College preferred
- Customer service experience
- Fresh produce experience preferred - not required
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Fast paced, friendly internal and external office environments.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
- Comfortable working on uneven terrain and concrete floors
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Non-slip, closed-toe shoes are required
- Compliance with all PPE guidelines
- Awareness of moving equipment and machinery
