Event Sales and Partnerships
Role Overview
This position is part of the Private Events & Partnerships team at Maxwell. Private events at Maxwell are extremely versatile and range from corporate offsites and panel discussions to evening cocktail receptions, seated dinners, and exclusive parties. This role also requires creativity in relationship building, long term strategic thinking of how to navigate complex organizations between their marketing departments and their events departments, and coming up with creative ideas on how to unlock funds from brands.
The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is skilled in crafting creative solutions to secure bookings.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Meet or exceed monthly private event sales targets, contributing to a personal annual goal of upwards of $1.5 million in revenue.
- Develop and execute a proactive sales strategy to secure a diverse mix of events, from corporate offsites to social celebrations.
- Source and close deals both through Maxwell’s inbound leads and personal networking, referrals, and outreach efforts—aiming for at least 50% of sales to come from cold outreach.
Event Planning & Execution Support
- Build and manage detailed Run of Show documents for each event, ensuring all logistics, timing, and client expectations are documented clearly for seamless execution.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure all event details are properly communicated and aligned, from catering and staffing to floor plan customization.
- Attend weekly BEO (Banquet Event Order) meetings to review upcoming events, align on logistics, and troubleshoot potential challenges in advance.
Client & Partner Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, PR agencies, and brand partners across industries
- Communicate event details clearly with internal teams, ensuring client expectations are met while maintaining the integrity of Maxwell’s member experience.
- Work with other team members to leverage event footage and content for lead generation and brand visibility.
