Hourly Rate: $21.01
(Part Time/ 28 hours a week)
The purpose of this position is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation within the EMT - Basic scope of practice as established by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health – Office of Emergency Medical Services and the Town of Bloomfield’s policies and procedures. Hours are part-time, 28 hours per week, with flexible day, evening and overnight hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), a valid Emergency Medical Technician license and current CPR BLS certification. Previous experience as an EMT is preferred but not required. Must have a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
Applicants selected to continue in the process must submit legible copies of their current CPR certificate and EMT license prior to being scheduled for oral board examination.
Selection Process
All appointments and promotions shall be made according to merit and fitness for performing the functions of the position, including factors such as education, experience, aptitude, knowledge, character, ethics, or other qualifications that would determine the best candidate for the position. Examinations may include written, oral, physical, or performance tests or any combination of the various types of examinations. Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory results on a background check, pre-employment physical, drug screening and verification of information on the employment application.
