Originations Analyst – Real Estate Credit

Within real estate credit, the team focuses primarily on residential investments, with flexibility across industrial, retail, and mixed-use assets.
Position Overview:
Leste is seeking an Originations Analyst to join its Real Estate Credit team in New York.
This role targets an early-career Analyst with 1–2 years of relevant full-time experience and offers exposure to the full transaction lifecycle, including sourcing, underwriting, and execution.
The Analyst will work closely with senior investment professionals and is expected to take ownership of key workstreams related to the evaluation and execution of senior bridge loans and selective structured equity investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, own, and maintain financial models focused on real estate cash flows, credit underwriting, and investment returns
- Perform detailed underwriting and analysis of new investment opportunities
- Conduct market and asset-level research to inform investment decisions
- Prepare investment committee materials and present key analyses internally
- Drive due diligence processes, including coordination with sponsors and third-party advisors
- Actively participate in transaction execution across multiple live deals
Qualifications:
Experience (Core Requirement)
- 1–2 years of relevant full-time experience (strong internships considered when combined with relevant exposure), ideally in:
- Real estate investing (equity or credit)
- Investment banking (M&A, Real Estate IB, LevFin, Structured Finance)
- Direct lending or structured credit
- Institutional brokerage (investment sales, debt and/or equity placement)
Technical Skills
- Strong financial modeling skills (real estate and/or credit)
- Solid understanding of cash flow analysis and credit underwriting concepts
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Profile & Skillset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ownership and ability to operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, STEM, or a related quantitative field
- Advanced degrees (MBA/Master’s) will be considered
