Business Development Intern
About the Role
Nitto BioPharma, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative genetic medicines for the treatment of intractable diseases. We are seeking a Business Development Intern to support our Search & Evaluation (S&E) and Business Development (BD) initiatives.
This unique, cross-functional role combines strategic business research, competitive intelligence, and hands-on exposure to drug delivery technologies, including lipid nanoparticle (LNP) platforms. You will contribute to evaluating the competitive landscape, supporting external partnership opportunities, and, as needed, participating in laboratory activities to better understand our technology platform.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct competitive intelligence, due diligence, and 3C (Company, Customer, Competitor) analysis to support business development strategy
- Research and analyze industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies in biopharma and drug delivery
- Collect, synthesize, and present findings in reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
- Support evaluation of potential strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, and technology alliances
- Assist with project and portfolio management activities across internal programs
- Contribute to building and improving business development tools, processes, and infrastructure
- Support business outreach and communication efforts (e.g., LinkedIn content, website updates, marketing materials)
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with R&D, project management, and HR teams
- (Optional/As needed) Assist with laboratory activities, including nanoparticle formulation and characterization
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Business, Economics, or related field with interest in life sciences, OR
- STEM field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering) with interest in business
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in biopharmaceutical industry, drug development, or biotechnology strategy
- Experience or familiarity with competitive analysis, market research, or due diligence
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and presentations
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with research tools, databases, and online search platforms
- Experience with data analysis and presentation development
- Comfortable using file management systems and cloud tools (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Understanding of basic cybersecurity best practices
