We furnish, decorate, and prepare apartments for new residents. We are looking for a reliable and hands-on intern to support our apartment setup, staging, furniture transportation, inventory, and field operations.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Property Operations & Apartment Setup Intern to help prepare and furnish apartments across New York City.

This is a fully on-site, field-based position. The intern will work alongside our team to transport furniture and supplies, receive deliveries, assemble furniture, organize inventory, decorate apartments, and ensure that each property is ready for its residents.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, driving, furniture assembly, interior decoration, and seeing the immediate results of their work.

Responsibilities

Apartment Setup & Decoration:

Assist with furnishing and styling bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and shared spaces.

Arrange furniture, lighting, textiles, artwork, and decorative accessories.

Prepare apartments according to company setup checklists and design guidelines.

Help ensure that every apartment is clean, welcoming, functional, and ready for residents.

Take photos of completed spaces and report any missing or damaged items.

Assist with apartment turnovers and preparation for new residents.

Furniture Assembly & Hands-On Support:

Assemble and disassemble beds, tables, chairs, desks, shelving units, and other furniture.

Follow furniture assembly instructions and use basic hand tools safely.

Unpack, organize, and place furniture and household items.

Assist with minor, non-technical apartment setup tasks.

Keep tools, materials, and work areas clean, safe, and organized.

Help move furniture and supplies within apartments and buildings.

Driving, Transportation & Deliveries:

Drive between the office, storage locations, stores, and apartments throughout New York City.

Transport furniture, décor, linens, boxes, and apartment supplies.

Help load and unload furniture, boxes, and other materials.

Pick up orders and supplies from stores or vendors when needed.

Receive deliveries and confirm that the correct items have arrived.

Handle transported items carefully to prevent loss or damage.

Follow all traffic, parking, building access, and company safety procedures.

Inventory & Property Operations:

Organize, label, and track furniture, tools, supplies, and inventory.

Complete apartment setup and inventory checklists.

Report missing, damaged, or replacement items to the team.

Help identify maintenance or replacement needs and communicate them clearly.

Coordinate with team members to complete apartment setups on schedule.

Support other on-site property operations as needed.

Required Qualifications

A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.

Must be comfortable driving in New York City.

Must be comfortable traveling between multiple properties and locations during the workday.

Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to follow a schedule.

Comfortable assembling furniture and using basic hand tools.

Able to follow instructions and complete tasks carefully.

Comfortable performing physical and hands-on work.

Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds, with team assistance or equipment available for heavier items.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and respect for apartments, furniture, and residents’ belongings.

Preferred Qualifications

Student or recent graduate interested in Real Estate, Property Management, Interior Design, Hospitality, Operations, Construction Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Previous experience with driving, deliveries, furniture assembly, moving, staging, retail displays, inventory, or property operations is a plus.

Interest in interior decoration and apartment styling is a plus.

Previous real estate experience is not required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, practical, and detail-oriented. They enjoy transforming an empty apartment into a comfortable and welcoming home.

The candidate should be willing to learn, work safely, take initiative, and support the team with a variety of on-site tasks. This position requires someone who is equally comfortable driving, assembling furniture, organizing supplies, and helping decorate an apartment.

Compensation

$500 / month

A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required for this position.
