This position is located in the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) within a Field Division Office of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The purpose of this position is to perform analytical and program related functions in support of Federal Programs.

As a Program Analyst, you will:
  • Execute the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration responsibilities for enforcement of applicable Federal laws and regulations concerning motor carrier safety, the transport of hazardous materials, and related highway safety matters.  
  • Apply management principles, organizational theories, structure and techniques; broad knowledge of standardized principles, concepts, policies, objectives, practices and procedures to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and recommend resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature related to program and administrative operations.
  • Apply analytical techniques and evaluative methods to issues or studies concerning programs in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Conduct in-depth, efficiency and productivity analysis of investigations, create ad hoc/special reports of findings for Division Management in order to gauge program’s deficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Compile data required for statistical/research/ strategic reports on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and/or on-request basis for evaluating the varied levels of program operations within the Division.
