Intern, SCADA
The MWRA SCADA group is seeking an intern to provide technical support to the MWRA SCADA group for various enhancement, maintenance, documentation and reporting projects. Works under the supervision of SCADA engineering staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist SCADA engineering in operating system & applications software patching
  • Degauss retired hard drives and erase memory of retired network equipment
  • Use Microsoft Access to create and enhance a SCADA alarm report database following the model of a similar database used on another system
  • Update and Enhance the a Microsoft Access equipment inventory database
  • Create database intended to document the configuration and function of all SCADA system components
  • Update written procedures and system documentation
  • Create SCADA graphics in SCADA software
  • Implement network component log server
  • Research enhancements to Bro IDS software
  • Research use of OSSEC HIDS Software
  • Expand Network Monitoring System deployment
Qualifications:
  • Computer Science or Engineering major
  • Minimum of 2 year undergraduate student
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or other CAD program
  • Familiar with MS Visio
  • Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications including Excel & Word
  • Proficient in technical writing
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts

  • Work Location: Chelsea, MA
  • Compensation: $14.00 - $17.00 based on education level
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
