ERDC-CRREL’s Signature Physics Branch is growing and we now have a unique opening for a Research Physical Scientist. We are looking for a candidate who has, or will soon have, an MS or a PhD from a science or engineering discipline, and is interested in acoustic and RF wave propagation and sensing. The candidate should have a background in the physical sciences (particularly acoustics or electromagnetics), computational methods, and advanced data analysis techniques. As an integral part of our team, you will apply your expertise to exciting problems involving modeling signal propagation and mapping noise in urban environments. Desired skills include experience with:
♦Theory and computational methods for wave propagation
♦Experimental techniques and sensors
♦Statistical methods and machine learning
♦Geographic information systems
♦Programming languages and software development, including Java and MATLAB
♦Ability to execute projects and lead multidisciplinary teams of scientists andengineers
♦Ability to write proposals, execute research and develop research programs
