USPHL Media And Marketing Intern

Join the Nation's Largest Amateur Hockey Organization in the 2020-21 season to promote the United States Premier Hockey League and its Member Organizations, but most importantly of all, its players who work tirelessly and play hard as they pursue a career in college hockey through Full-Season Midget and Junior Hockey.

The ideal candidate for this part-time position is a self-starting, idea-driven and energetic individual who loves the drama and excitement of the sports world. From the basics like writing articles and conducting interviews to helping to plan events and drive League strategy, there is a lot involved in this internship, which is directed largely at those studying Marketing, Communications, English, and Journalism, among other disciplines.

Qualifications
  • Strong, outgoing, friendly and professional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Love for and knowledge of hockey is preferred. A passion for sports and active lifestyles required.
  • College-level writing skills. Previous sports writing experience preferred but not required.
  • Word Processing/Editing skills (mostly Google Docs).
  • Spreadsheet skills preferred but not required (mostly Google Sheets)
  • High degree of Social Media literacy.
  • High degree of Digital Media literacy (i.e. capturing video interviews on personal phone)
  • Easily reachable on short notice and quick to reply when called upon.
  • Ability and willingness to work many weekends.
  • Reliable transportation, and ability/willingness to travel to events in New England and possibly just beyond.

Start Date: Oct. 1, 2020 (flexible)
End Date: Looking for a student who can stay on through the end of the season. Must be able to earn college credits for internship.
