SQL/Business Intelligence Developer

Description of Position
CHMW is an entrepreneurial and dynamic firm offering an exciting opportunity and immediate opening for a SQL/Business Intelligence Developer to support the administration and development of our internal database and business intelligence platform, ProphIT. The role will focus on CHMW’s back-end relational database but will also have exposure to all stages of the data lifecycle and thus requires an individual who is comfortable learning new technologies and broadening their skill set as needs develop.

Responsibilities
• Support the firm’s analytic needs through data sourcing, building ETL/ELT, administrating/developing relational databases, administrating/developing OLAP databases, administrating web applications, and providing user support.
• Optimize queries, jobs, SSIS packages, and Azure system architecture to improve performance and scalability.
• Help to standardize and document code, object naming conventions, and system architecture.
• Learn new technologies and programming languages independently in response to data and reporting challenges which require unique solutions.
• Take an active interest in the Asset Management process to understand business user requirements and create new ideas for system expansion.
• Help develop ProphIT as a source of competitive advantage for CHMW.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited university. Position is major agnostic for an individual with the appropriate skillset but some disciplines that could be well suited for the role include: Information Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Accounting, Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Statistics, or Hospitality
  • Strong quantitative ability and aptitude for quantitative learning
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to business users
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work after normal business hours and on weekends as needed
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and business writing skills
  • An ability to identify, collect, process, and organize large amounts of information and data, which may be limited or incomplete
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Hospitality experience or background is a plus

Technical Qualifications
  • Minimum technical qualifications include exposure to the following technologies/languages: T-SQL, SSIS, VBA, SSAS Tabular (DAX), and at least one business intelligence product
  • Experience working with Azure. Preferred exposure to the following Azure resources: Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Server, Azure Analysis Services, Logic Apps, Runbooks, and Azure Automation
  • Additional skills/technologies that would be attractive: MDX, SSRS, R, Python, NodeJS, JavaScript, C#, C++, Linux (RedHat Distribution), SharePoint, knowledge of networks and server administration
