Assistant Event Coordinator

We are looking for an Event Coordinator to assist the manager on duty with wedding rehearsals, wedding & events set up, as well as coordination and break down of events. This position works closely with the Event Manager to ensure all day-of-event tasks are accomplished and completed. He/she/they are expected to carry out any delegated tasks to facilitate setting up and executing gatherings such as weddings, baby & bridal showers, anniversary parties, corporate meetings, and holiday parties. An event coordinator must be well-organized, detail-oriented and have a passion for the events industry. Communication skills and ability to lead and work as part of a team will set apart the best among the candidates. 

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all required day-of-event tasks are accomplished and completed
  • Help set up, execute, coordinate, break down, clean up and close the venue
  • Help run the event to ensure the event runs as the client expects
  • Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards and the venue is in pristine condition
  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems

Requirements:
  • Possession of high school diploma
  • Ability to comply with instructions
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure effectively
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team
  • Willing to learn and gain knowledge of event programs such as Gather/Tripleseat and AllSeated
  • Ability to listen compassionately to the needs of clients
  • Excellent vendor management skills
  • Working towards or have a degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred

Job Type: Internship or Part Time

Pay: $12.00 per hour

Schedule:
  • Select Weekdays & Weeknights
  • Weekend availability is a MUST
